8-bit Configurable Platform for SoC designs based on 8051 ISA-compliant instruction set
architecture
Our solution comprises all hardware, software and validation IP necessary to design R8051XC2 (microcontroller)
based products with low development cost and short design time. It is based on
R8051XC2
instruction set architecture compatible with Intel™ 8051, executing one instruction per clock
cycle (for single byte instructions, with fully configurable set of peripherals including standard
Intel™ 8051 and Siemens™ 80C515/ 80C517 compatible.

Configurability
A rich set of optional features and peripherals allows to match closely the core with specific
application and hardware requirements. There are around forty different features & modules to be
tuned automatically using proprietary tool. The Design Configurator is included in the full
configurable version, R8051XC2-F, for self-conducted use.
Also pre-configured or custom-configured versions are
available - R8051XC2-A, R8051XC2-B.
Flexibility
On-demand modifications beyond configurability are welcome.
The R8051XC2 includes many additions to the standard 8051 architecture, which spread the range of
applications and increase the performance. Evatronix proprietary features make the CPU benchmark run
from 9.4 up to 12.1 times faster than using standard Intel™ 80C51 at the same clock frequency.

All the proprietary features (except for DMA) are fully supported by Keil µVision 3 tools set.
Debug support
The R8051XC2 can be equipped with a complete debugging solution consisting of an instrumentation
module built in the microcontroller core, an USB based Pod for communication and EDIk software for
interfacing with Keil µVision compiler/debugger. Code download, FLASH programming, memory
inspection, run/stop/step control and standard debugging features as well as optional Program / Data
Trace.
RTOS Compatibility
The Micrium μC/OS-II Real-Time Operating System has been successfully ported to the R8051XC2
platform.
